She was the wife of the late James D. Wright who entered into rest on July 29, 1998. Sally was born on June 2, 1919, in Fawn Twp. and was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Ella (Thompson) Shenk.
Sally worked at various sewing factories and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Yoe and attended Red Lion Bible Church. Surviving her are two daughters, Nancy E. Martz of Dallastown and Linda K. Strickler and husband Gary of Jacobus; a son, David J. Wright and wife Linda of Seven Valleys; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Sally will begin on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, pastor of Red Lion Bible Church, and Pastor Troy Harrold, pastor of Christ U.M. Church in Yoe, will officiate. Burial will be in Yoe Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604. Sally enjoyed playing Bingo with her fellow "Yoe-Hoe's." She also loved to camp and watch sports, especially the Orioles and Phillies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
