Barbara D. Burris, age 69, of New Castle passed away Monday Aug. 11,2014 at her home.

She was born Feb. 2,1945 in Cumberland City, KY to the late Sam and Nadine Guffey. She worked 16 years for the South Madison School Corporation and retired after 19 years with Aramack Cafeteria and Chrysler Corp. She enjoyed racing with her husband for 13 years, late models at surrounding tracks, Mt. Lawn, Muncie, Anderson and Winchester. Also cooking and NASCAR. She also enjoyed her dog Shadow.

She is survived by her son Bryan of New Castle; sisters Ella Smitherman, Nancy (husband Rusty) Enix and Lisa (husband Jeff) Foreman; brother Jim Guffey.

Preceded in death by her husband Bill Burris in 1986; brother William Ray Guffey an infant brother in 1944, a brother Sam in 1997 and her parents.

Services will be Wednesday Aug. 13,2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Marcum Community Funeral Home, Reverends Danny Douglas and Ban Bair will be officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
