Harry McKinley Coker, 58, died Saturday.
Born in Lake City, he was a son of the late William McKinley and Mrs. Myrtle McCutcheon Coker.
He was a former member of the National Guard, an administrative aide to former Gov. Robert McNair and an administrative assistant to Earl Morris. He was awarded the Order of the Palmetto by Gov. Carroll Campbell. He attended Temple Baptist Church.
He was elected Senate Sergeant-at-arms in 1972 after retiring from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Surviving are his widow. Mrs. Truma Rook Coker, a son, John M. Coker of Monroe, N. C.; a daughter, Mrs. Pamela L. Neese of Columbia; brothers, Ray Coker of Spartanburg and Tommy Coker of Lake City; and a sister, Mrs. Everette Moore of Lake City.
Services will be held at 2 p. m. today at Temple Baptist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Troopers Association.
