YORK Denise L. (Lippy) Chapman, 57, passed away at 2:15 a.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014, at York Hospital. She was the wife of James Chapman whom she married 23 years ago on June 8, 1991. Denise was born June 20, 1957, in York, the daughter of Robert and Marian (Ziegler) Lippy of Manchester. She graduated from Northeastern High School in 1975 and Hagerstown Medical and Secretarial School in 1977. She was employed by Wellspan for over 35 years. She was a member of a bowling league with fellow employees of Wellspan; St. Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester where she was an Infant Care Teacher in the nursery and helped and traveled on mission trips with the church. She was an avid follower and supporter of Mount Wolf baseball team. In addition to her parents and her husband Jim; Denise is survived by her daughter, Katlyn Chapman of York; her son, Steven Pokopec of York; and her sister, Debra Beshore of Mount Wolf. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf and from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4360 Board Road, Manchester. Her service will begin at 11 a.m., at the church. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be her pastor the Reverend Chuck Sprenkle.
