The Gridley Twice-A-Week Herald, Wednesday, April 7, 1920, pg 1 col 5: Death of Young Mother Brings Sadness To Home. Gertrude Ozetta Barker, wife of Bradley C. Barker of Gridley, died at the family home here Monday, April 5th, at 5 p.m., following a short illness of bronchial pneumonia after being ill with influenza. An infant daughter was born Saturday, dying at birth.
The deceased was a bright an attractive young woman, lacking a few weeks of being twenty years old. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Watson and was born west of Gridley, May 30, 1900. She was married to Bradley C. Barker in May, 1919.
The funeral of the mother and babe was held yesterday from the United Brethren church, Rev. L. Hammond officiating. Interment was made in Live Oak cemetery at Gridley, the child being buried with the mother.
