MARION, Va. Andrew John Webb, age 90, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at his home in Marion, Va. He was born in Ona, W.Va., to the late Jasper and Esther Webb. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ivan Webb, Walter Herbert Webb, and Stanley Ray Webb; and two sisters, Mary Louise DeBusk and Rose Welch. Mr. Webb was a World War II veteran, having served in the European theater in the 667th Field Artillery Battalion. Following his discharge from the military he worked as military police officer and a Merchant Marine with the Sun Oil Company. He retired from Combined Insurance Company after 18 years in the insurance industry. Mr. Webb enjoyed bowling, and played on many local bowling leagues over the years. He enjoyed golf, was an avid reader, and loved to watch baseball. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pamela June Webb; one son, Charles Jeffrey Webb and wife, Wendy, of Marion; two daughters, Leska Joanne Stoots and husband, Paul, and Marion Laura Jean Webb and fiance Eugene Hanshew, of Marion; two grandchildren, Zachary Webb and Raygan Hanshew; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Jill. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August, 11, 2014 at 7 p.m. from the Bradley's Funeral Home chapel in Marion, with the Rev. Justin Keene officiating. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Rose Lawn Cemetery, with full military honors rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Marion. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Russell County Hospice and Dayle Zanzinger, FNP. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667, 861 Goolsby Street, Marion, VA 24354. Expressions of sympathy can be forwarded to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
