Later serving his country 4 years in the Air Force in Panama. He attained his Masters Degree at the University of Oklahoma. His 37 years as a teacher and counselor at Del City High School (5 years of that at OU) are remembered by many. He was an accomplished pianist and composer, using his talents freely for his church, as well as for many wedding and funerals, for over 65 years. He loved writing poetry, gospel songs and cantatas, as well as gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Mamie Lee Stair, Lois Sanmann and Estalene Lupin; and 4 brothers, Roger, Archie, Mitchell and Clifton.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie; 2 sisters, Rosemary Cox and husband, Jay of Lawton, and Lily Fryar of Choctaw; many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Lakeside Church Of God, Norman, OK. Interment to follow at IOOF Cemetery, Norman, OK.
