Emily C. Parker, 60, of Meadville, died unexpectedly at home Tuesday, June 9, 2009.She was born in Meadville, Jan. 5, 1949, a daughter of Paul W. and Margaret E. Harden Waid. She married Stanley R. Parker, April 4, 1970, and he survives.She worked in the transportation department at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community and previously worked as a nurse's aide at Wesbury and the former City and Spencer hospitals.She was a 1967 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School. She enjoyed collecting angels and loved spending time with her grandchildren.Survivors, in addition to her husband, Stanley, of 39 years, include two daughters, Kristi McCormick and her husband, Steven, of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Becky Wilkinson and her husband, Alan, of Carlton; a sister, Shirley Isenberg and her husband, Kenneth, of Jamestown; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Waid of Meadville; and four grandchildren, Matthew McCormick, Shawn McCormick, Arnold E. Johnson V and Mark Wilkinson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Waid.Calling hours are today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.A private family graveside service will be Friday in Townley Cemetery, with the Rev. David Brumagin officiating.
