Clifford Lesley (Ted) Posey, longtime owner and operator of Fayetteville Sheet Metal Works in Fayetteville, died Tuesday morning in the Huntsville Hospital following a long illness. He was 57.
The funeral was this afternoon at Fayetteville First Baptist church with Jim Ashworth and the Rev. Joe Mayberry officiating. Burial was in the State Line Cemetery. Ralston-Lee Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Posey was the husband of Mrs. Odell W. Posey, clerk and master for Lincoln County Chancery Court.
He was a native of Madison County, Ala. and the son of the late William R. and Eliza Hill Posey.
Mr. Posey was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as superintendent of the adult Sunday School department. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Towry Post 42 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a son, Anthony Posey of Lawton, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Sidney Ashworth and Miss Stacy Posey, both of Lincoln County; one brother, Albert Posey of Madison County; and one granddaughter.
