Philip Bamberger, 77, former mayor of Huntingburg, died Tuesday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. J. Landgrebe Huntingburg.
He was born on a farm near Bretzville on March 4, 1855. At 18 he began to learn the tinner's trade at Rockport and returned to Huntingburg beginning the tinning and metal working business from which he retired.
In 1876 he married Miss Johanna M. Hildebrand and to them four children were born. E. Bamberger, Hilbert Bamberger, Mrs. Landgrebe and Charles Bamberger of Huntingburg.
Mr. Bamberger served as mayor of Huntingburg for two terms.
Besides his children he is survived by a sister, Mrs. William Prior.
Burial in Fairmount cemetery.
