Mr. Stierhoff was a native of Columbus, Ohio. He lived in Turlock 15 years and previously lived in Los Angeles.
He was an aerospace engineer for 50 years and enjoyed golf, bowling and camping.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served from 1942-46.
He is survived by his children, James Hearn of Escalon, Linda Rochester of Burbank, Nancy Moreno of Laughlin, Nev., and Ellen Carskadon of Nevada City; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Stierhoff.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella.
