Carol was born in Milwaukee on December 21, 1939, daughter of Herbert and Leona Pagel Liedtke. She attended local schools and graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in 1957.
On June 13, 1975, Carol married Daniel Murphy in Random Lake and between them they have 4 children. Carol worked as a bookkeeper for Flexspend and Wage Works, retiring in 2013.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, and belonged to the YMCA where she enjoyed swimming, the Random Lake Library Book Club, and a card club that she played sheepshead with for over 50 years. Carol enjoyed camping with her family and friends, traveling with Dan to Hawaii and the Grand Canyon, and photography. She was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband Dan of Glendale, children Michael (Gabriella) Witteman of Amsterdam, Dawn (the late Bill) Baker of Port Washington, Brian (Amy) Witteman of Whitefish Bay, and Dione "Dee Dee" (Lonny) Techel of Wausau and 9 grandchildren: Daniel (Leslie), Melissa (Christian), Elizabeth, Kurt, Hannah (Shelby), Alex, Nicholas, Max and Sam. She is further survived by 5 great-grandchildren, brothers Carl (the late Grace) and Allen (the late Donna) Liedtke, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert & Leona, and sister Eleanor (the late Melvin) Ramthun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, September 27th at Our Lady of the Lakes - St. Mary Chapel, 300 Butler St., Random Lake. Father Steve Lampe and Deacon Brian Witteman will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4PM until Mass begins at 6PM. Carol will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, Random Lake, on Thursday, September 29th.
