Rhonda Kay "Ronnie" (Newman) Thomas, 57, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home in Little Mountain, South Carolina.
She was born on Tuesday, July 9, 1957 in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late Robert and Marsha (Mitchell) Newman. Rhonda was the devoted wife of the late Cedric Thomas who passed away April 12, 2012.
She is preceded in death by siblings, Debbie (Newman) Woodard and Ricky Newman.
Rhonda leaves behind two children, Nathan Newman and Kiea Knight of South Carolina; sisters, Deanna (Newman) Taylor and Penny (Newman) White; brothers, Robert and Rusty Newman.
Also, Rhonda leaves behind a grandson Hunter who lived with her and several other grandchildren, Haley, Harlee, Hayz, Storm, Chance, Stone, Rain and Lake.
Rhonda moved to South Carolina after the passing of her husband to be close to her children and grandchildren. Rhonda made sure she would come back to Indiana to visit with her family whether it would be one day or a week. Rhonda spent many days at Lake Murray with her grandchildren. She was a person who always made you laugh. She was loved by many friends. Rhonda worked many years as a photographer at Sears Portrait Studio in Indianapolis and a bartender at H&H Tavern.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Tackett officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
