David John Theis, age 53, of North Branch, formerly of Shakopee, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014, at his residence.
David was born in Shakopee, Minnesota on August 20, 1960. He attended Shakopee High School and then St. Cloud State University. He married Kim Pierce on July 10, 1999, in Chisago City, Minnesota. David was the owner of Bricksmith, Inc., and worked at Circle Pines Sausage House.
David enjoyed his family and was an avid sports fan. Special 'thanks' to the staff at United Hospital and Sister Kenny Institute.
Survived by his wife, Kim (Pierce); daughter, Kaley Theis; mother, Annie Von Bokern; siblings, Tom (Maxine), Jane Luke (Brian), Doug (Gretchen), Pat Soberg (Mark), Mary Domek (Larry), Scott (Karen), Kurt Von Bokern (Marcia), Heidi Von Bokern; 20 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces & nephews; brother-in-law, Kelly Pierce; Kim's parents, Gene and Donna Pierce; special friend, Austin. Preceded by parents, Alvin and Dorothy Theis, and Don Von Bokern; niece, Katie Luke; beloved dog, Gump.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 10:00 AM at The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne (Church of St. Mary), 535 Lewis Street, Shakopee. Private interment.
Visitation: Visitation Tuesday from 4-8 PM, and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 AM, both at McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 Third Avenue East, Shakopee.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
