She was the daughter of John & Ann (Chappell) Hansford.

She married 1st Pledge Palmore, 3 Dec 1781, Bedford County, Virginia. (name was spelled Parmore in the record)

Shortly before her wedding her father had made this Bill of sale;
HANSARD TO HANSARD: Know all ye men by these presents that I John Hansard of Bedford County have given, granted, bargained and sold unto Sarah Hansard- one negro fellow named Frank, one black mare, one feather bed and furniture. I do warrant and defend from any person or persons laying claim or claims thereunto under penalty of one thousand pounds apiece. In witness there of he the said John Hansard hath hereunto set his hand and seal this day of October 1781.

In Oct of 1795, Sarah was granted administration of her deceased husband's estate.

She married 2nd Barksdale Snyder, 12 Feb 1800, Amherst County, Virginia.

In the last years of her life she lived with a daughter, Sally, of the second marriage.
