Services for John C. Willaby, 56, a resident of Campbell who died in the Bonham VA Hospital Tuesday after a five-day illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Brigham Cemetery.

Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Gideon Bush and the Rev. Robert Baldridge.

He was born in Quinlan on Feb. 26, 1914, the son of George and Katherine Willaby, and was a farmer and veteran of World War II. He married Miss Elizabeth Kinworthy on July 5, 1944 in Granite City, Ill. He was a member of the Tidwell Baptist Church.

Mr. Willaby is survived by his wife; six sons, Gerald Eugene Kinworthy of Quonchie Point, R.I.; Jackie Lee Kinworthy of Greenville, Michael Charles Kinworthy of Santa Maria, Calif., William Alvis of East St. Louis, Ill., John C. Willaby Jr. of Sachse, and Anthony Wayne Willaby of Campbell; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Helms of Fostoria, Ohio; four brothers, Ertchel Willaby, Elmer Willaby and Stanford Willaby, all of Greenville, and Wesley Willaby of Killeen; one sister, Mrs. C.D. Roddy of Greenville, and 16 grandchildren.
