Howard A. Kopp, 85, of Bedford, died at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Garden Villa, Bedford.

Born January 28, 1928 in Bedford, he was the son of Alva E. Kopp and Clara E. (Bauer) Kopp.

He married Susan Ellen Piper on April 24, 1954; she died August 16, 2005.

He was an lifelong employee of the Bedford (Thompson) Dairy Co. of Bedford and Seymour, IN, working over 40 years and retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford; veteran, U.S. Army, of the Korean War; member of the former Bedford Jaycees; and member of Stone City Lodge F.O.P. # 94, Bedford. Many will remember Howard as a fan of anything associated with his beloved University of Notre Dame, especially football.

Surviving are two sons, Stephen H. Kopp, Bedford, and Gregory N. Kopp, St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Mary Ellen (Steve) Graf, Bedford, and Catherine Ann (Mike) Young, Fountaintown, IN; four grandchildren, Warren W. O'Connell, Indianapolis, Elizabeth (Jason) Russell, Shelbyville, IN, Patricia A. Graf and Rachel M. Graf, both of Bedford; one great grandson, Jason Russell, Jr.; one sister, Kathleen (John) Freeman, Shelbyville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; two sons, Joseph Michael, 1961 and Brent Edward, 1964; one sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Holley; and five brothers, Louis "Pete" Kopp, Warren Kopp, James Kopp, Kenneth Kopp and Roger Kopp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford, with Fr. Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
