Mrs. Janie Puryear Perkins of Brad Smith Trail, Nathalie, VA passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home. She was born in Halifax County September 30, 1936 and was 77 years old. She was the daughter of the late Roy Puryear and Mary Willie Morris Puryear and was married to the late Neil Vernon Perkins Sr. She was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by one son, Richard Terry Perkins and two brothers, George Edward Puryear and James ”Pete” Puryear.
A funeral service will be held at Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
