Funeral services were held for Mrs. Melzena A. Walter, 85, 1411 - 150th Street, Hammond, who died last night at St. Margaret's hospital.
The Rev James H. Connelly officiated, from St Patrick's church at 139th Street and Grand Blvd. in Indiana Harbor. Burial at Mount Mercy cemetery in Gary.
Born Jan 14th, 1859 in Penn. Mrs. Walter had lived in Hammond 25 years. she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Percy Wickenden of Indiana Harbor, Mrs. Marie Smith of Hammond and Mrs. Joseph Wilson of Ontario, Canada, three sons, Thomas of Chesterton, Leo of Lansing, and Charles of Hammond, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
