Gail M. Rogers, born to Joseph R. and Pearl Claridge Rogers on Jan. 8, 1928, in Safford, Ariz., died Feb. 15, 2006 in Chandler, Ariz. Mr. Rogers attended Safford Public Schools, graduating from Safford High School, class valedictorian in 1945. He was an active member of the LDS church and served as a missionary in the southern states during the years 1947-1949. He served in the Army in Korea 1949-1951 and was honorable discharged. Mr. Rogers graduated from Brigham Young University in 1955 with a bachelors of science degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he was employed by Lockheed Aircraft in their space program, in Palo Alto, Calif. He was later transferred to Washington, D.C., in 1978 and remained there with the Lockheed Company until his retirement in 2005. He retired to Gilbert, Ariz., at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Alix; and children, Sonia, Garth, Kevin, Karen, Emily, Tommy, Mike, Joe, Dave and Rick; brothers Donald Rogers and Robert Rogers; and sister Susan Holloday. He was preceded in death by his son, Glen; and his brother, Joseph. Family viewing will be held at the Bunker Family University Chapel, 3529 East University Drive, Mesa, Ariz. 85213 on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Power Ranch Ward, 4170 S. Ranch House Parkway, Gilbert, Ariz., on Friday, Feb 24, at 10 a.m. followed by services at Mariposa Gardens, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Perpetual Education for LDS Missionaries. Arrangements by Bunkers Desert View Chapel, Mesa, Ariz.
