Nellie Pitcher Brown, 91, long-time resident of Springville, Utah, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 1998, in Provo, Utah. She was born on July 12, 1906, in Woolford (near Cardston), Alberta, Canada, to Walter Edward and Nellie Hinman Pitcher. Nellie was the fifth of eleven children. She married Frank Mangum Brown on June 15, 1932, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Rulon Blaine) Twitchell of Springville, Utah; a son, Ray Pitcher (Nadine) Brown of Bountiful, Utah; a daughter-in-law, Delores Van Meveren Brown of Carson City, Nevada; three sisters: June Noyes Johansson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kate Spencer of Winnipeg, Manatoba, Canada, Ruth Leavitt of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mangum Brown in 1983; two sons, Don Brown and Frank Edward Brown; her parents; two sisters, Susie Pitcher Smith, and Rhonda Pitcher Smith; five brothers: Morgan Pitcher, Frank Pitcher, Everett Pitcher, Walter Pitcher, and Callis Pitcher. Burial was January 10, 1998.
