Obituary: Elva Crosbie Dean, 95, passed away October 18, 1998 in Orem, Utah. She was born August 8, 1903 to Robert Crosbie and Martha Fielding in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended schools in Thistle, Salt Lake City, and Provo and graduated from Brigham Young University. She married Stanley R. Dean, had four children and later divorced. She taught school at Dixon Jr. High for 15 years, then returned to school to obtain a Library Science degree at U.C.L.A. in California. She retired as a Librarian from the University of Utah in 1969. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, doing much genealogy research.

She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Ahern, of Northridge, CA, and a brother, Dr. Robert R. Crosbie, of Oakland, CA; daughters; Betty D. Burch, of Orem, Beverly D. Keplinger, of Palm Desert, CA., son Robert J. Dean, of Park City, 14 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Suncrest 9th Ward Chapel, 130 North 400 West Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held at the ward chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary of Orem.
