YORK Kenneth W. Kohler, 88, died at York Hospital on August 7, 2014. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Hess) Kohler, with whom he observed their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 9, 2014. Born September 26, 1925 in York, he was the son of the late Wilmer M. Kohler and the late Louise (Deitz) Gallagher. Ken was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He retired as a scheduler for the New Cumberland Army Depot following 35 years of employment and was a former employee of Weis Markets for 17 years. Ken graduated from William Penn Senior High School, was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of Spry Fire Company and Goodwill # 1 Fire Company. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 2523 Pine Grove Road, York, with his pastor, the Rev. Joel N. Coleman, officiating. Burial will be in Otterbein United Methodist Church of Spry Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 2523 Pine Grove Road, York, PA 17403. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E.
