Diane was the daughter of Frank Strong Sr and Helen Adams Strong. She was educated in the Jenkins County School System. She also attended Savannah State College in Savannah, Georgia. She served in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge. She was a licensed Beautician and was employed with the Houston County Board of Education as a Bus Driver. She also worked at Cracker Barrel restaurant for 12 years. She was an active member of Oak Level Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia for many years, serving on the Usher Board, Financial Board and several other committees.
She married Ezzard James Lowe Sr in June of 1980, they had 2 children. He preceded her in death on December 28,2007.
