Services for Joyce Rhoma Pendergrass Holland, 87, of Lufkin, will be held May 23, 2018 in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5205 S. First Street, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Joyce was born October 29, 1930 in Crossett, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Georgia Lou (Tanner) and David Henry Pendergrass. She passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 in a local nursing facility.
Joyce moved to Texas at the age of 13 and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1948. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Joyce worked in the Trust Department at Lufkin National Bank. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She had a wonderful life with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Mills of Kilgore; son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Judy Holland; granddaughters, Mellisa Kaemmerling and husband Joe, Patti Ward and husband JR, Lori Baker and husband Chris, and Joni Holland; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; brother, Tanner Pendergrass; and life-long friend, Doris McClung.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Buddy Holland in 2000; and grandsons, Matt Holland and Jeff Clark.
