The son of the late G.S. and Sarah Brassfield Smith, he was born January 15, 1888 in Whitley County. He was married September 20, 1908 to Maude Estes, who survives him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Ray Smith of Pulaski County; by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Laura Burton, R. 2, Eubank, and Lena White, Circleville, Ohio; and by two brothers, Ed Smith of R. 2, Eubank and Henry Smith of Science Hill.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the Pulaski Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Hill officiating. Burial was in the Science Hill Cemetery.
