LOCAL NEWS OF THE WEEK

Mrs. Thomas Ward, of Valparaiso passed away at her home Saturday noon shortly after 12 o'clock. Death was caused by cancer. Deceased had been ill for over a year and had been confined to her bed for the past six months. She was 63 years old, and had been a resident of Valparaiso nearly all her life. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Ward Moroney, formerly of Chesterton. The funeral was held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Paul's church, Valparaiso, and was largely attended, several from here being present.
