After a long and very courageous battle with cancer, Larry Dollar, 64, of Valdosta passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on August 20, 1946 and was the second son of the late Robert and Bertha Dollar. He was of the Baptist faith and was also a member of the National Guard. Larry learned his carpentry skills from his father, Robert, who owned and operated Dollar Church Seating Company for many years. After his father became disabled, Larry formed a partnership with Ted Chase and became part of TLG Builders here in Valdosta. Larry and Ted built many beautiful homes here in the Valdosta and surrounding areas and Larry's reputation of integrity and honesty was well known. After becoming ill with cancer, Larry was unable to continue the physical demands of the building business, but developed Larry Dollar Stucco, which he ran until his death on Saturday.

Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Claire R. Dollar, daughter, Bethany Dollar, son, Christopher Dollar , sisters Gwen Vance, Shirley and Mike Townsend, Beverly and Jerry Smith, Martha and Reverend Stanley Luke, one brother, Bobby Dollar. mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary Ellen and Harmon Royal.

Larry's love of life, loving spirit, devotion to his family, and outgoing personality will be sorely missed by everyone that knew and loved him. Larry always had a smile on his face and usually a hammer in his hand.
