Clifford fondly known as “Li'l Cliff” or just plain old “Cliff”', was called to rest on Sunday, August 3, 2014.
Clifford was born July 22,1939 in Savannah, Georgia, the only son of (the late) Clifford Harvey, Sr. and Rose Bourke Harvey. The family eventually moved to Beaufort, South Carolina.
As a child, Clifford was a member of Grace Chapel A.M.E. Church. He loved music at an early age, having taken dance and piano lessons. He graduated from Robert Smalls High School in 1959. That same year, Clifford moved to New York City. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Veronica Singleton, also from Beaufort. From their union came three children: Stephanie, Sonya and Dwayne, whom he loved dearly.
Clifford held a variety of jobs in graphics arts before accepting a position with the New York City Department of Sanitation as an Associate Graphic Artist. After twenty years of service, he retired from this position.
Cliff loved jazz music and dancing, and had an extensive jazz album collection. He was also an avid pooler, having won a number of trophies.
Those left to cherish fond and precious memories, are his three children: Stephanie Harvey, Sonya Harvey Rencher and Dwayne Harvey; his loving sister Geneva Howard; his long-time companion, Gilda Beckett; four grandsons: Adrian, Dwayne, Dominique and Kendall; extended family: Valerie and Joyce; two aunts, a long-time friend, Billy Belton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
