Fillmore County News (Exeter), November 10, 1927:
William Grant Burress was born at Buena Vista, Ohio July 7, 1864 and died at Beaver Crossing, Neb. October [November] 5, 1927. He was at work there building a house at the time of his death. He asked the lady of the house for some soda for his stomach, a remedy he had often taken. In about ten minutes the other man working there not hearing Mr. Burress at work went to see what he was doing, and found him dead.
When a small child he moved to Illinois and in 1879 came to Nebraska with his parents. He made his home near Cordova for a number of years and was married in 1893 and moved to Canada in 1906. He returned from Canada about twelve years ago and made his home with his sisters.
He is survived by four sisters [listed].
Funeral services were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. Flora Bevington, at Exeter, November 7, conducted by Rev. Drumm of Beaver Crossing, assisted by the quartet of the Christian church of Exeter.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral: [listed].
