Allan waited until his brother Wilmot came home from the war, to go to High School, university and on to Theological college to become a United Church Minister.  He later worked as a social worker with Big Brothers of Burlington/Hamilton/Wentworth until he retired.  Rev Allan and Audrey Scott's family included, Rilla, Lanny, Sandy, Robin, Sheena, Lauren, Frances, Cecily, Colin, and Adrianna and foster children, Ronald, James, Tay and Tara.
