Mrs. Martin was born May 25, 1927, in Stokes County, one of six children born to the late William Andy and Mattie Lee Nunn Rogers.
Nellie retired from United Elastics and attended Asbury Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Clarence Holt of Asbury; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Junior and Sarah Rogers of Collinstown, Marie Rogers of Woodville, and Hilda Rogers of Lawsonville; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Andy W. Rogers of Collinstown, and two special nieces, Mitzi Boyette of Rural Hall and Kristi Tolliver of Halifax, Va.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee Martin; a precious granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Joyce; a sister, Stella Rogers Beasley; and three brothers, Carl Rogers, Tom Rogers, and Dewey Rogers.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Asbury Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Rickey Rogers and the Rev. Terry Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Rev. Terry Collins, 6457 Highway 89 West, Westfield, NC 27053.
