Merlene K. Admire, 70, passed away at 2:58 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at University Healthcare Center.
Born on November 11, 1943, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, the daughter of the late James and Hazel Carter. Merlene was a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughtes, Beverly Admire, of St. Louis, Missouri, Rhonda Admire of Charleston, South Carolina, and Melissa and Steve Augustine of Columbia, Illinois; one son, David and Kimberly Admire of Bethalto, illinois; 12 grandchildren, Brandon, Bradley, Joshua, Brittany, Ashley, Steven, Bryan, Leah, Camren, Samantha, Collin, and Chase; and one great-grandchild, David Paul Admire.
Preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of life service will be held from 12-5 p.m. Sunday, August 17, at the VFW, 621 Water Street; Cahokia, Illinois 62206.
Marks Mortuary in Wood river is in charge of arrangements.
