Crandon - Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Frank E. Harris in the Presbyterian Church at Laona for Earl Griff Milham, 70, retired Laona railroad man, who was found deadin his car at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday a half-mile south of Highway 8 near the Rat River.
His body was discovered by two hunters, Dude and Fred Thomas, Laona. His wife said he had left home at 2 p.m. Tuesday to gather forest greens. He apparently had died about 4 p.m. Tuesday from a heart attack, a physician said.
A native of Kentucky, Mr. Milham was born February 3, 1887 and moved to Laona 50 years ago. He was a breakman for the Laona and Northern Railroad for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Cassie; a nine-month-old son, Alfred William; another son Earl Jr., by a previous marriage to Myrtle (Irish) Tomany; a step daughter, Mrs. Al Masse, Laona, and a sister Mrs. Hattie Wahley, Dayton, Ohio
