GENTRY, SANDRA YOUNG BIVENS (SANDY) - age 73, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at her home. Sandy graduated Lenoir City High School in 1958, where she was a majorette.
She was a retired court reporter. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Thelma Young; brother, Mike Young; first husband, Sonny Bivens; and step son, Robert H. Gentry III.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dr. Robert H. Gentry Jr; sons, Eric Bivens and family Karen, Chris and Amanda of Louisville, TN, Brad Bivens and family Janet and Alex of Charlotte, NC; step children, Teresa Cuneo, Alecia Gentry, and Diane Miller; grandchildren, Christin Brown, Shannon Welch, Paula Roberts and Andrew Gentry; great grandchildren, Cole Foflygen, Lilly Cuneo, and Liam Welch.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th, followed by a celebration of life at 2:30 p.m. at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Dr. Jerry Taylor officiating. Sandy's family requests that friends wear bright sparkly clothes to celebrate her zest of life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice .
