James worked as an electrician for 50 years and later retired at age 71 from Southern Sun Electrical Company. He was known by most of his fellow workers and friends as PAPE. James loved to fish and metal detect.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erma of 34 years. Survivors include his three sons, Jimmie L. Broyles, Herbert P. Broyles and his wife, Denise, Carson W. Broyles; daughters Pat Morris and Linda Young and her husband, Monroe, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother, Paul and his wife Phillis Broyles.
