44 years old. Son of George and Polly Mitchell
Sullivan's wife, Fanny died in Montpelier on February 23, 1849; their infant daughter died in the same place on March 8, 1849.
On February 18, 1862, Sullivan mustered in as a Private in the 1st Vermont Large Artillery Battery. He was promoted to Artificer on December 27, 1863.
Sullivan died at the Marine Hospital in New Orleans from wounds received in battle.
