Raymond Berry, 84, of Troy, Pa., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 05, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Faye M. (Cook) Berry. The couple married July 18, 1953 and had 61 happy years together.

Ray was born on April 23, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Raymond and Helen (Royal) Berry. He was a 1948 graduate of Doylestown High School and was a US Navy veteran serving his country on the USS Damato during the Korean War. After his return home Ray worked 20 years for Bell Telephone, then worked for Paper Magic in Troy as a Cylinder Press Operator for 20 more years. He retired from Paper Magic in 1993. Ray was a member of the Olde Covert Church, Sylvania Lions Club, and the American Legion Post #49 in Troy. As a youth Ray was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the highest rank in Scouting, the Eagle Scout. For many years he was a Boy Scout leader and was a weather spotter for the National Weather Service.
Ray is survived by his wife Faye, his children: Ray (Raylene) Berry of Troy, PA, Cindy McWhorter of Elmira, NY, and Brenda (Gary) Shaak of Quakertown, PA, his grandchildren: Tracy (Jeff) Bartlett, Gwen (Nico) Bosch, Chanda Davis and fiancé Shane, Justin (Justine) McWhorter, Patrick (Jessica) McWhorter, Kelly McWhorter, Taylor Shaak, and McKenzie Shaak, his six great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and his canine companion Bissy. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clifford Berry, and his sister Nancy Wacker.
