Services for Jennie Juanita Stone, 86, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Billy Lewis officiating. . Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Stonewall, Oklahoma. A Rosary will be held at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 P.M. Thursday.
Mrs. Stone died August 5, 2014 at her home. She was born April 22, 1928 to Benny Lucero and Ida Martin Lucero in Trinidad, Colorado. She graduated in 1946 from West High School, in Denver, Colorado.
Pat and Jennie met while working for the University of California at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as part of the Atomic Energy Commission. She married Pat Stone on September 19, 1953 in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Mrs. Stone came to this area in 1970. She graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor's Degree in Art in 1996 and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority over fifty years. She helped her husband Pat establish and run the Kentucky Fried Chicken business and has been a KFC franchisee for over 42 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, helped with the annual Smorgasbord and was a member of the Golden Club. Mrs. Stone also sang in the Messiah at East Central University and was a member of the Ada Artists Association.
Survivors include her husband, Pat Stone, of the home; two daughters, Donna Stone, Ada and Sandra Pratt of Lindsay, Oklahoma, two sons, Patrick Stone and wife Lavanda, of Ada and Howard Stone and wife Linda of Ada; seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Franklin Bynum, Doyle Sanders, Jay Hornbeck, Chuck Brand, Dan Hilgert and Bill Cavener. Honoroary bearers will be Victor Bolin, Ken Maxwell, Matt Thomas, Jim Edwards, Roy Elmore, Carroll Stewart, Jack Whomble, Chad Sliger and members of the St. Joseph Choir.
