Our beloved Helen was born in Sunnyvale on August 25, 1925. She left this world on August 13, 2008 with a view of a courtyard full of beautiful Santa Clara trees that she loved so deeply.

Helen passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and friends whose lives have been blessed by the beautiful person she was, inside and out.

She was raised on her family's prune ranch in Sunnyvale on El Camino Real. There she lived with her parents, John and Mary Duckgeischel, her sister, Dr. Katherine Duckgeischel, and her adopted sister, Roberta Soldonia, all who predeceased her.

Today the street we know as Helen Avenue was named after her by her father. She lived all her life in the Santa Clara Valley.

Helen is survived by Roberta Soldonia's extensive family and countless friends whose lives were consistently touched her her kind and caring nature.

Helen attended St. Clare's Elementary School and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She loved her work as legal secretary at the City of San Jose Attorney's Office where she was employed for 30 years.

She was a devoted member of St. Clare's Church and made it her life long purpose to serve God by serving others. Helen was blessed with a great love in her life. She met Victor Clarke Salberg in first grade.

One day, on the playground he profoundly declared, "I'm going to marry you someday." Years later, Helen became Mrs. Clarke Salberg.

With Helen's playful nature and Clarke's fun, mischievous personality, the two enjoyed many loving years of marriage until Clarke's death in 1986. Several years later, Helen connected with an old friend, Bob Keenan.

The two enjoyed many years of companionship. Our dear Helen was an angel on earth. She will be greatly missed. God has blessed and honored us with her humble, compassionate presence for many wonderful years.

Now, God will be blessed and honored to have her home again. We are prayerful and delighted that Helen is now in the loving arms of her heavenly family.
