Mr. Dean attended Cambridge High School.
During the later part of WW II he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Dean was well known for his boat building skills which he learned as an apprentice under the expertise of Bronze Parks. In between building boats he was an avid waterman and later established a marine business which he operated from the mid 1980’s until the present time.
During his entire lifetime he was devoted to music, especially bluegrass music as well as gospel music. He enjoyed singing at various functions at nursing homes under the group names of Wingate Town Ramblers and later on Almost Home, Sacred Sounds and Friends Dreams.
Mr. Dean was a devoted member of the Taylors Island United Methodist Church.
