Colleen M. Trentman, age 62, of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Colleen was born on May 30, 1952, in Elwood to William "Bill" and Carolyn (Spitzmesser) Shepard.

Colleen graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School in 1970.

On April 16, 1988 she married the love of her life Kent Trentman.

Colleen retired from Shepard Tool Inc. in 1999, after 21 years of service to enjoy her family.

She was an avid Pacers and Colts fan. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. Christmas was a year around occasion for her making it the most memorable and amazing time for those who got to share it with her.

Her favorite movie was, "It's a Wonderful life." She believed with all her heart, "It's a wonderful life!" Most of all she lived everyday to be with her husband, children, grandchildren and her mother whom she loved with all her heart.

Colleen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elwood.

Colleen is survived by her loving husband, of 26 years, Kent Trentman of Elwood; mother, Carolyn S. Shepard of Elwood, three daughters; Aleshcha (Chuck) DeWitt of Plymouth, Stacey (Greg) Hofer of Elwood, and Jessica (Franki) Gonzalez of Ball Ground, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Philip Morris of Elwood, Rebeca & Abigale Lee of Plymouth, Noah, Meghan, and Nicholas Hofer of Elwood, Cretia (Scott) Jensen of Brookston, Andy DeWitt (fiance') Marci Gachow) of Leesburg, Va.; and Mitch DeWitt of Coesse; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Brynleigh Jensen and Gavin and Logan DeWitt; four sisters, Donita (Ron) Bobel of Mobile, Ala., Patricia (Chris) Juday of Elwood, Sheryl (David) Stowers of Depauw, and Nancy (Art) Dudley of Lyons, Colo.; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Alice Trentman of Westfield; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Dana and Darlene Trentman of Sheridan, Camilla Godby of Prospect Park, Pa., Priscilla (Steve) Keim of Westfield, and Lyle (Penny) Trentman of Ellijay, Ga.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and Colleen's special family friends, Bonnie and John Deckard of Elwood.

Colleen was preceded in death by her dad, William "Bill" Shepard; her grandparents, great granddaughter, Bayleigh Jensen; and 2 brother-in-laws Dale Blackford and Bruce Godby.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014. at Dunnichay Funeral Home, with Father Dan Duff officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Colleen's family request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Toy Drive through the George Morrisett Center in Elwood.
