Giacomo Abbate, 81, of Rancho Mirage, California, passed away on August 3, 2014.

He was born October 31, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York to Giacomo and Concetta Abbate.

He married Lucy Sorrentino in 1982.

He owned his own manufacturing business of restaurant and hotel equipment.

He served in the U.S. Navy for two years.

He is survived by his spouse, Lucy Abbate; daughter, Connie Pezulich, of Brooklyn; son, Jack Abbate, of Long Island, New York; brother, Joseph Abbate, of Ocean, New Jersey; six grandchildren, Christopher, Paul, Giacomo, Joseph, Christina, and Danielle; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aubrey, Alicia, Isabella, Giacomo, and John.

A visitations will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Ramon Chapel, Cathedral City, California. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 43775 Deep Canyon Road, Palm Desert, California, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 69855 East Ramon Road, Cathedral City.
