Dad was born to Alva Milton Newkirk and Goldie Johanna Jensen in Salt Lake City, Utah, May 1930. He graduated from South High School in 1948 and entered the Armed Services in 1951 to serve his country during the Korean War. During his service he was stationed in Japan where he became enchanted with the people and country.He always wanted to return there but didn't get to while here on earth.
Don is survived by his celestial wife, Bonnie, and four children, Karen (Bob) Pryor, Jim (Carolee) Newkirk, Donna (Scott) Sterzer, Cindy (Lance) Kueffner. Grandchildren Kristen, Andrea, Hayley, Pasquel (Chris) Hansen, Lindsey, Zachary, Madison, Jacob, Scott, Andy, Jace, Justine and Joshua. Great-grandchildren include Ayla and Aidan. A dearly beloved brother, He is also survived by his sister Marian Love and her husband Richard.
