Sherri was born on July 22, 1954 and passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010 (forever 55) from heart arrhythmia. She suffered a disabling stroke in January 2008 and beat all the odds of ever regaining a "productive" life. She suffered with sever myopathy in both feet, but eventually was able to retire her cane after learning how to walk again. She was able to get disability from the State of Nebraska, yet continued to work part time as a PA in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sherri took great pride in her appearance and her profession until the very end.

She grew up in Lenox, Iowa and then moved to Council Bluffs, IA after high school where she attended Iowa Western Community College to become a dental assistant.

Sherri joined the US Army in 1984 to help her become all she could be. She used the Army's education benefits to finance undergraduate studies and excelled academically. She was invited to join the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. That, was not an easy feat, but she tapped it and wore, the 'should', well.

She graduated from UNMC in 1993 with a Physician Assistant degree and practiced in Tabor, Hamburg and Sidney, Iowa for 2 years. She then made her permanent practice in Council Bluffs.

Omaha and Bellevue have been her home for the past 35 years.

In 1997, Sherri bought a house in Bellevue, Nebraska, which she dearly loved. It was her sanctuary and she took great pride in making her back yard one of the most beautiful and peaceful gardens I have ever seen. She touched the lives of so many people, especially after she became a Physician's Assistant. Her patients and "special friends" throughout her life were touched by her kindness, sense of humor and her adventurous spirit.

She fought many demons throughout her life and with the power of prayer and her strong faith in God, she overcame all of them. Her drive and determination were such an inspiration to so many people.

Sherri is buried in Grove Cemetery in Lenox, Iowa. It's just 4.7 miles from the family farm where she grew up.
