Henry Ray Manning, 75, of Del City, OK, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014.

Henry was born on July 25th, 1939, in Pauls Valley, OK to Henry and Inez Manning.

Henry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara (Hatfield) Manning, and three children, Michele Manning and husband John James of Sulphur, OK, Melissa Davis and husband Bret, and Henry R. Manning, Jr. and wife Totsy, all of Oklahoma City.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Lynlea, Riley, Hunter, Garrett, Maddy, Grant, Sydney and Mason.

Henry was in coaching for 39 years which included other schools in Amarillo, Sapulpa and Arlington, Texas, 24 of these years were spent at Del City High School. He retired after the 1998-99 school year.

Henry was voted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1994. Del City High School honored him by opening the Henry Manning Athletic Center in 2005.

Henry will be most remembered for his 1976 State Championship Title at Del City High School.

Services will be held at Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church, 4500 S.E. 31st St., Del City, Oklahoma, at 10am on Friday, August 8th.

A viewing will be offered on Thursday, August 7th, 6-8pm at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home 5005 SE 29th Street in Del City, OK.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the HENRY MANNING FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP FUND @ at Arvest Bank in Del City. This fund will be used to further the education of future Del City High School Football Athletes.

Henry Manning instilled many great values in the people that surrounded him on and off the football field. He will always be remembered for his honesty, determination and love for his family. "Ho Babe!"
