The death of Mrs. Clarinda Washburn occurred yesterday morning at her home in Danvers, The cause of her death was la grippe, with which she was taken sick with last Thursday.
Mrs. Washburn was born July 1815, at Canandaigua, N. Y.
She married July 4, 1833, to Mr. Hiram Crist of Montgomery, O. Nine children were born to them, five of whom are now living; J. B. O. Crist, of this city; Mrs. J H Ament, of Peoria; Lloyd B. Crist, of Normal; Abram Crist, of Champaign; and Mrs. Lizzie Deal, of Vinita, I. T. Mrs. Todd, Montgomery, O. is her only surviving sister.
In 1845 Mrs. Crist and her husband came to Illinois and settled in Tremont, Tazewell County. In 1848 they came to McLean County.
Mrs. Crist united with the Stout’s Grove Christian Church in 1851 and was a faithful member.
Mr. Crist died August 1, 1870. Mrs. Crist then went to Danvers where she has since lived. She was married in November 1879 to Mr. Philo Washburn, of Danvers.
She leaves eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the Congregational Church in Danvers tomorrow afternoon at 2:45, Rev. G. A. Wilson conducting the services.
