"Frankfort, Ky. - A Frankfort High School senior died late Monday after being shot in the head, the Fayette County Coroner's Office reported yesterday.

A 17 year-old juvenile was being held on a second-degree assault charge, Frankfort police said.

Marc Schuster, 18, formerly of Louisville, died of a single gunshot wound at the University of Kentucy Albert B. Chandler Medical Center after being shot Sunday, the coroner's office said.

The shooting occurred at the home of a Frankfort architect. Police said the juvenile who has been charged said he thought the .32 caliber pistol he was handling was unloaded.

Schuster's survivors include his father, Thomas L. Schuster of Sellersburg, Ind.; his mother, Janet J. Mart of Frankfort; a brother, Jason M. Schuster of Farkfort; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Mart of Cincinnati and Charlotte S. Schuster of Louisville; his great-grandmother, Hazel E. Mart of Cincinnati; and his stepmother, Claudia Schuster of Sellersburg.

The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery there. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow.

The family suggests that memorial gifts go to the Meredith-Dunn Learning Center, 3023 Melbourne Ave., Louisville, Ky. 40220."
