Found in Utica Morning Herald May 19, 1896 listed with many other soldiers buried at this site. He was a Lieutenant Colonel.

On December 24, 1862 he married Mary Hurlburt Matteson (of Orsamus B. Matteson and Mary Hurlburt).

They had only one child Augusta Matteson Pomeroy.


Obit:

Col George Pomroy, Paymaster in the regular army, and who was for some months stationed in this city, died recently in Omaha, Nebraska. His remains have been taken to Utica for interment. He was a son in-law of Hon. O.B. Mattison, of Utica.
