Freer, Mary L., age 89, of Clinton Township passed away on August 2, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 18, 1925 to Harold Booth Hambright and Ann Lodewyck Rivard and upon her mother's death she was adopted by Louise Lodewyck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Freer. Loving mother of Paul (Patricia) Schram, Eileen (Philip) Tremonti, Michael (Sandy) Schram, Julieann (Andrew) Rebar, Mary Jo (William) Rennolds and Harry James (Dionne) Freer. Loving grandmother of 19, great-grandmother of 21 and great-great-grandmother of two. Loving sister of Helen McCabe. Mary was a transportation specialist for L'Anse Creuse Public Schools for 26 years and retired in 1991. She was an avid genealogist and was active in many organizations, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, French-Canadian Heritage Society of MI, Macomb County Genealogy Group, New England Historical & Genealogical Society, member and officer at the Detroit Society for Genealogical Research, volunteer at Mt. Clemens Library, honorary member of St. Peter's Altar Society and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church since 1971. Instate Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 100 New Street, Mt. Clemens, until time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Clemens Public Library, 150 Cass Avenue, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043 or A Rejoyeful Animal Rescue, PO Box 46354, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043.
